Budilka

(or Alarm clock)

Preprosta random objava v petek zjutraj, ko megla še zastira pogled na Golovec in Ljubljanski grad. Na pločnikih še ni veliko ljudi. Poslušam Esperanzo Spalding in uživam ob jutranjem zelenem čaju in času, ki danes teče počasi. Budilka, ki sem jo prehitela, s tihim tiktakanjem opozarja nase.

Na čas, ki teče počasi in nam dovoli ujeti trenutek tišine in vsakdanje lepote. Imejte magičen dan! :)

Eng: Just a random Friday morning post when the fog still veils the view to Golovec or castle of Ljubljana. There are little people on the street right now. I am listening to Esperanza Spalding and enjoying my morning green tea and the time, which runs slowly today. And the alarm clock is very quietly ticking the time away.

Let the time runs slowly today to let us catch the moments of silence and all the everyday beautiful things. I wish you all a magical day. :)

O barvah in radovednosti

(or About colors and curiosity)

"toy cameras" in jaz sem tam pomagala z nasveti in dokumentirala dogodek.

Digitalno fotografijo in njene možnosti imam resnično rada in uživam, ko delam z digitalnim fotoaparatom. :)

V prihodnjih dneh bom pripravila še tips & tricks objavo za vse tiste, ki vas bolj podrobno zanima, kako priti do takšne fotografije. Do takrat pa: bodite radovedni! ;)

Eng: I have always believed that a person should continuously discover his/hers "childishness". To let the colors take him/her over, run on the meadows, catching the wind, draw simple structures, to sing... And above all to stay curious. The colors, the play of light and curiosity 'visited' me through a small camera that I got for my 25th birthday from two of my dear friends. (I will show it to you soon :)). Incognito has organized its first workshop for this so called "toy cameras" and I was there to help, advise and document the event. I played with lights, ambient light and flash. I tested my new camera and I can say that I am impressed by the colors and the moments that I captured.

I really like digital photography and its possibilities and enjoy a lot when I work with a digital camera. And I find the best charm of analog photography precisely in that sense of curiosity, in a different way of working - that I photograph differently and learn to see light in new ways through "games". I am certainly lucky that I can use both. :)

In the coming days I will prepare the Tips & Tricks post for all you who are interested in more detail how to get such photos. Until then: stay curious! ;)

Ringlojev kolač

(or Gage's cake)

In recept/potek gre nekako takole. :)

Sestavine:

ringloji
cca. 150g pirine moke
2 jajci
2 jogurta (v lončku)
70g stopljene kokosove maščobe
3/4 skodelice rjavega sladkorja
vanilin sladkor
pecilni prašek

Eng: A rainy Sunday, which started with a fruit breakfast in bed, a good movie, reading the newspaper, listening to rainy, which was knocking on balcony's shelf and pleasantly cooling the apartment. I don't know when was the last time I had such a lazy Sunday. :) But it was clear to me that the day should have a sweet finish to it. So my sister and I made a gage's cake.

Ingredients:

gages
cca. 150g of spelt flour
2 eggs
2 cups of yogurt
70g of melted coconut fat
3/4 cup of brown sugar
vanilla sugar
baking powder

Tokrat nisem imela izmerjenih vseh sestavin. Dodali sva tudi nekaj pecilnega praška in vanilijevega sladkorja.

Eng: This time I didn't measure all the ingredients. We only used half of the spelt flour on the scale. That we added some baking powder and vanilla sugar.

Namesto masla sva stopili kokosovo mast in jo primešali moki ter prej dodanim jajcem, jogurtu in polovici skodelice (tiste rumene skodelice v ozadju) rjavega sladkorja. :)

Eng: Instead of butter, we melted the coconut fat and added it to the bowl where there was flour, eggs, yogurt and sugar.

Eng: We put some more sugar on the gages, poured the dough on them and put everything into the oven heated to 170°C for 45 minutes.

Želim vam čudovit začetek tedna!

Eng: When the cake cooled down, we put it on the plate, added a bit of home-made honey on top of it and enjoyed the late afternoon Sunday snack. :)

I wish you all a wonderful start of the week! :)

#2 camera obscura

Eng: I participated in the summer school of photography in Slovakia under the mentor William Mokrynski, where I've learned how to make a camera obscura and take photos with it. For my project I did an auto portrait, because I celebrated my 25th birthday when I was there. It was a time for the beginning of photography, slow movement and reflection - well, being 1/4th of a century old isn't such a small thing ;).

First we had to make a camera obscura from a tin, drill a hole into it, paint it black and tape it, so the light couldn't get in.

V učilnici smo imeli tablo, na katero sem izpisovala citate in pregovore.

Eng: We had a board in the classroom, where I wrote down the quotes and sayings. This one I really liked, since it is really appropriate for a course dealing with camera obscura :)

Naša skromna temnica, kjer smo razvijali in sušili posnete fotografije.

Eng: Our modest darkroom where we developed and dried our taken photos.

Zadaj za šolo je bilo malo parkirišče, nekaj bele stene in ravno dovolj sence. (fotografija spodaj: Tanja U.)

Eng: Behind the school there was a small parking lot with some white walls and just enough shadow, where Tanja and I made ourselves a "studio". (a photo below by Tanja U.)

Eng: After we had the photos, there was time for getting them in order for the exhibition. It wasn't an easy job, but our mentor helped us through.

Spodaj Tanjin projekt naslovljen "Preprosto Iva / Simply Iva".

Eng: The Tanja's project was titled "Preprosto Iva / Simply Iva". It is a portrait study of me :). It was a great experience being a model for somebody taking pictures with camera obscura :). And the photo under this one is a project of Dušan Beláň. It is always interesting being a model for me, since I get to experience what my couples are feeling on the other side of a lens. :) (two photos below by Tanja U.)

Eng: My project was titled "25". We had to give in our project on my birthday and so the number 25 seemed a perfect title :). I was trying to take photos of parts of my body as well as things that represent something special to me. Sometimes it worked, other times not so much, but I am very pleased with the end result. It will be a nice memory of the workshop and my 25th birthday.

In še fotografija mene in moje "fotografinje" Tanje, zaradi katere bo Slovaška zagotovo ostala v lepem spominu. In takole zaključujem objavo in grem naproti novim fotografskim izzivom v svojem 26. letu starosti ;). Komaj čakam! :) (fotografija spodaj: Dušan Beláň)

Eng: And the photography of Tanja (my photographer) and me. Because of her the photo school will always stay a sweet memory - all the words, walks, lunches and the hours spent infront/behind "the lens", in studio, the darkroom and the classroom. And I am finishing this post with this photo and am heading towards new challenges in my 26th year of life. Just can't wait ;). (photo below by Dušan Beláň)

Imejte čudovit dan! :)

Eng: I wish you all a wonderful day! :)

#1 Camera obscura

Eng: From 7.7. I have been in Slovakia, where I am visiting a photo workshop held by a great photographer and mentor William Mokrynski from Canada. I am learning abut beginnings of photography and working with camera obscura. A very interesting experience about which I will tell you more, when I come back to Slovenia (in the begging of the next week). Until then my blog will rest a bit more :) And here is the first photo of mine with camera obscura.

Želim vam čudovit teden! Be creative! ;)

Eng: I wish you all a wonderful week! Be creative ;)!

Stara Ljubljana: Saša + Tomaž

(or Old part of Ljubljana: Saša + Tomaž)

Odšli so do Galerije, kjer sta Saša in Tomaž sedela skupaj. Sledilo je še eno srečanje, žuranje, pogledi in pogovori. Mnenja in iskrice.

In še so mnenja in iskrice in nagajivi poljubi, držanje za roko in nasmehi. Skupaj smo preživeli dobro uro in se v sončnem popoldnevu sprehodili po stari Ljubljani, kjer sta onadva obujala stare spomine in jaz delala nove :).

Eng: They met at this very spot eight years ago. Saša and her friend were walking around the city and pass by the same street twice. And there was a bench by the river Ljubljanica were guys were sitting, having fun and trying to make a contact with this two ladies. One one of them was bold enough to invite them over - and Saša and a friend took the offer. The introduced and "the bold one" said that Tomaž has a girlfriend, which wasn't the truth. When the time came, they stood up and "the bold one" realized that Saša was much higher then him (and to this very day this still remains a joke among all of them) :). So they went to a bar, where Saša and Tomaž sat together - and he said that it was something in the was she looked at him, the was she talked - there were sparkles and many words between them. And through time they fall in love. And in love they are for eight years now.

Any they are still sparkles and glances, words and great energy. We went on a walk through the city - holding hands they were restoring memories and I was making some new memories for them. :)

To je klopca, kjer sta se Saša in Tomaž spoznala.

Eng: This is the bench where Saša and Tomaž met.

Eng: They got accustomed to my company in no time and in environment so relaxed it was not hard to make a photo like this. Looooving it! :)

Pred Križankami sem "našla" tale vrata in ju postavila pred njih za nekaj drugačnih portretov.

Eng: I found this door and they just seemed such a great place to make photos in front of them.

Saša - res gorgeous! Lepotica!

Eng: Saša, you are so beautiful! Really.

In z veseljem sta :).

Eng: I just adore all things that have a glimpse of "Tuscany" feeling - colors, things, houses. And when I found this chair (I just love finding chairs!), I asked the to share one and they were happy to do it :).

Eng: Saša and Tomaž, thank you again for your great company, being honest and relaxed! :) If you want to see more photos, click here for a SLIDESHOW.

Šatulja

(or A box)

Eng: I was a second photographer of Andrej Korenč ("the mentor" ;)) at two weddings in June. It was the most informative, interesting and at times very entertaining experience. :) I learned many new things, try to look at events that were developing differently, to capture moments that happened behind the "back" of the first photographer. I looked for details that might otherwise go unnoticed. I tried to capture angles that the first photographer did not cover, to be there and to carry bags (though he really didn't bother me not too much with them ;)) and hold the reflectors.
Certainly an experience which I wouldn't like to miss. Experience I would recommend to anyone who is trying to become a good wedding photographer.
I will certainly share with you some more photos, but in the meanwhile here is bride's bouquet and a box - a gift that was given to the bride Špela. I was so impressed by this home-made box with and with the fact that someone has put so much effort in creating such a neat gift. Truly wonderful.

Želim vam čudovit začetek tedna! Be creative! ;)

Eng: I wish you all a wonderful beginning of this week. Be creative! ;)

:) Gorgeous! Več o prijetnem druženju v stari Ljubljani pa zelo kmalu. :)

Eng: I known Saša for few years now and I always enjoyed her company. And our photossesion on Tuesday it was just as such - so enjoyable and fun. :)
I met Saša when I was trying to learn how to play piano. Well, the wish "being able to play piano" ended with playing Bach's menuets and Satie's Gymnopédie No.1 (all the time). :) Our path of being a piano mentor and student separated, but we stayed in contact and agreed on an engagement photossesion in no time.

When I saw her engagement ring I knew this dyptich would be just perfect for a "friday coming soon" post :). It is just gorgeous. And more about a lovely afternoon in old part of Ljubljana is coming soon. :)

Lep vikend! :)

Eng: Have a nice weekend! :)
